Over the past several years I have had the gift of visiting
northern Tanzania. I have had
the pleasure of getting to know people who have become dear to me. We have
shared joys upon seeing our children succeed, and I have tried to help
shoulder the burden brought on by illness and drought. The kindness and
generosity of the people of Northern Tanzania know no bounds. Their
resourcefulness and resilience are no less remarkable. The lessons I have
learned and the gift of their friendship will nourish me throughout my
life. My purpose in creating Mwenzangu
photography and offering the images for sale is to try to return, in some
small part, gifts to Tanzania. Total
profits from the sale of the photographs will be returned to those whose
pictures you see. This might mean school fees can be paid, or that a new
goat or cow will provide milk. It might mean a sack of grain, medicine, or
a donkey to help carry water from wells, miles away. It is in this spirit that I
offer the images for sale.
